Here you will find information about Research groups in the PathoGenoMics fields from the ERA-NET partner countries (Austria, Finland, France, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain).
This information is supposed to support cooperation between researchers from different European countries
and thus enhance the development of a European Research Area for PathoGenoMics .

Research Topics:
1. Antibiotic peptides: Lactoferricine derived peptides: bactericidal, outer membrane permeabilizing and anti-endotoxic activities 2. Genetic control of virulence: Two-component sensory-regulatory systems; lipopolysaccharides and their relation to pathogenicity; biofilms: expression and genetic regulation.

Special methods / technologies:
Large-scale production and purification of bacterial cells and their subcellular fractions (LPS, proteins, lipids...) under BSL-2 and BSL-3 conditions (fermentor, cell-disruption techniques, ultracentrifuges, ultrafreezers); fully equipped molecular biology laboratory (PCR, Real-Time PCR; Southern, Northern and Western Blotting); cell culture and serology laboratory; Animal facilities for experimental infection of small rodents; access to Elec.Micr.
