Research Topics:
Our research is focused on the evaluation of the prevalence, antimicrobial resistance profiles, virulence determinants involved on the enterococcal pathogenesis, and epidemiological and evolutionary aspects among contemporary’s enterococcal isolates recovered from infection products at the hospital setting and from colonization (including both healthy people and high risk patients). In addition we are interested on the nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal colonization of pre-school children by beta- haemolytic streptococci.
