Here you will find information about Research groups in the PathoGenoMics fields from the ERA-NET partner countries (Austria, Finland, France, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain).
This information is supposed to support cooperation between researchers from different European countries
and thus enhance the development of a European Research Area for PathoGenoMics .

Research Topics:
Key words: Antimicrobial resistance, surveillance, microbiota, macrolide resistance, otitis media, antibiotic use, diagnostics of infectious diseases, Our main goal is to study bacteria resistant to antimicrobial agents and effect of antimicrobials on normal microbiota. We study also mechanisms of macrolide and fluoroquinolone resistance. Antibiotic use in primary health care is one of the study topics as well as surveillance of bacterial resistance in Finland.

  • Streptococcus pneumoniae
  • Streptococcus pyogenes

 

Special methods / technologies:
Beside all common methods we use also pyrosequencing and DGGE.
